There is no doubt that…
I love starting businesses. The challenges are always unique and the learning experiences are one of a kind. I discovered something a few years ago that really took me by surprise though. As much as I love starting my own businesses, I enjoy being in a team environment markedly more. I thrive helping to find creative solutions to an organizations
problems.
The real world became my MBA program and taught me some high stakes lessons. It also led me down a great career path where I have worn more hats and learned more about the dynamic world of business in a way that outstripped the knowledge I could have gained in a classroom or in a job right out of college.
Being a part of businesses from the ground up also exposed me to my own weaknesses and pain points every organization goes through. I learned the importance of Project Management and I dedicated myself to getting a job within that field. A couple years later after setting this goal I now manage approximately 10 million in construction budgets and I have learned a ton. The insights gained are universally applicable in all fields and that was precisely what I was hoping for.
